A Little About Myself
I grew up in Evans, Georgia and graduated from Evans High School in 1995. I moved to Amarillo in 2001 and have lived in Randall County for over Eighteen years. I felt that this area was the best place to raise my two boys. As a mother, my boys play a very important role in my life and I stayed at home to raise them. In 2003, I started working approximately 25 hours a week as a Victim’s Advocate with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). In this role, I worked closely with the victims of drunken driving accidents and provided support for them and their families. In this capacity, I gained a beginning knowledge of court procedures and began to cultivate an interest in serving.
My career with the Randall County Sheriff’s Office began in February of 2012. I began as a corrections officer in the Randall County Jail. During the first year, I was given multiple opportunities to create experiences and advance my career by working as a Jail Officer, a Booking Officer, and a Transport Officer. I also received Employee of the Month in August 2012.
I graduated as part of the 107th graduating class of the Panhandle Regional Law Enforcement Academy in 2013. Then I was promoted to a Civil Deputy where my knowledge of the civil process has increased exponentially and I have had the privilege to create a solid relationship with the Justice of the Peace office as well as many other important departments within Randall County. My employment with Randall County has afforded me the chance to attend training classes and obtain my Texas Jailer’s License and Texas Peace Officer’s License. By the end of December 2019, I will have my advanced Peace Officer's License.
In my free time I enjoy spending time outdoors either hiking, jeeping or riding my razor at the river. When I'm not enjoying the good outdoors I love volunteering my time around town. One of my favorite volunteer opportunities is the annual Shop with a Cop. I am also a member of the Amarillo Republican Women’s Association, the Sheriff's Association of Texas, The Randall County Sheriff's Association. I also attend Amarillo Fellowship.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my website. If you have any question please feel free to contact. I don't mind have one on one meetings. If you have a group or meeting that you would like me to attend please feel free to contact me as well. I would love to reach as many people as I can.
